What has been the most rewarding project or deal you’ve worked on in your career, and why?
Condé Nast’s 2014 move into One World Trade Center stands out as my most rewarding project. As the first major tenant in the rebuilt tower, the project symbolized New York’s resilience in the aftermath of 9/11. Coordinating the relocation of 3,400 employees and building out 24 floors designed by Gensler, complete with signature amenities, was both technically complex and emotionally significant. Being part of such a historic moment was an honor.
What skill or quality do you believe is essential for success in your field today?
Communication: The ability to clearly convey ideas, listen actively, and bridge the gap between clients, contractors, designers, and vendors is the foundation of every successful project. Effective communication not only keeps projects on track but also builds trust, which is a critical component in an industry where relationships are everything.
If you could change one thing about the CRE industry, what would it be and why?
I would broaden diversity across all levels of the commercial real estate industry. Greater diversity, especially in leadership. Broader representation brings fresh ideas, fosters innovation, and leads to stronger results.
What advice would you give to a woman considering a career in commercial real estate?
Don’t be intimidated. This industry offers endless opportunities to grow, lead, and make an impact. Your perspective and voice are valuable; use them.
