2025 Women in Construction: Michele Principato, Greek Design | Build

Michele Principato
Project Coordinator, Dev. & Const.
Greek Design | Build

What is one project or achievement in your career that you are most proud of, and how did it impact your organization or community?

Representing both landlord and tenant, I focus on enhancing client spaces. One notable project was at 1175 Florence Columbus Rd., Mansfield, NJ, a 710,368 s/f tenant improvement. Greek was hired mid-renovation after the tenant was dissatisfied with their previous contractor. Taking over mid-construction posed challenges, but we delivered cost-effective, high-quality solutions for the six-satellite break rooms and bathroom renovation, showcasing Greek’s strong reputation — a career highlight for me.

Who or what has inspired you most in your career, and what advice would you share with the next generation of women entering the A/E/C industry?

I’ve found inspiration through perseverance in a male-dominated industry. I believe in the power of self-confidence and hard work, which have helped me navigate challenges and grow in my role. I value continuous learning and the pride that comes from steady progress. I advise women entering the field to trust their abilities, stay determined, and embrace opportunities to develop their skills. With six years at Greek, I believe my experience highlights the impact of resilience and dedication.

What’s your favorite way to recharge or get inspired outside of work?

I teach barre fitness at a local studio and leads monthly stretch classes at Greek.
