What trends or innovations do you believe will shape the future of your field, and how are you positioning yourself (or your firm) to be at the forefront?

AI and other streamlined programs that help automate processes allow us to act more as consultants for our clients rather than compliance. We will continue to provide compliance services; however, with more automated features, our focus shifts from compliance to consulting to offer more opportunities to our clients. This allows us to focus on our client’s businesses, listen to their needs, and have more in-depth conversations with them geared to improve their overall business rather than simply completing the next filing that is due.

Who or what has inspired you most in your career, and what advice would you share with the next generation of women entering the A/E/C industry?

I want them to see that if you work hard, you can be successful in whatever you choose. In construction – we see more men than women. However, more women have entered this industry in various capacities over the last few years. We bring a different perspective and knowledge to the industry. A piece of advice I would share with the next generation is the same with my children – don’t give up; if it is something you are serious and passionate about.
