2025 Ones To Watch - Industry Leaders: Sean Mashihi, Block Real Estate Group

Sean Mashihi

Turning problems into opportunities:

One real estate challenge that turned into an opportunity involved a commercial property that had been sitting vacant for a long period. The owner was struggling with finding a tenant and the building itself was in need of significant renovations. Instead of seeing the vacant space as a loss, we approached the situation by looking at how we could reposition the property in the market. We did a thorough analysis of the local market, identified potential tenants who might be underserved, and then proposed a new branding and renovation strategy.

Recent goal and impact:

I implemented a strategic marketing campaign that focused on social media, SEO, and a direct mailing campaign. I also developed relationships with local developers to get a stronger understanding of the market in prime Brooklyn neighborhoods. As a result, I successfully marketed and sold four development sites last quarter. This success had a significant impact on the firm’s growth, increasing its visibility and client base. It also helped to solidify my reputation as a forward-thinking broker in the Brooklyn market.

Best books, podcasts, or apps for aspiring leaders:

Sharing knowledge and expertise:

I share knowledge through interaction, support, and guidance, making it accessible and actionable for others. I provide clear, accurate, and informative responses to any question, either real estate related or not.

Best advice for new leaders:

Lead with empathy, communicate clearly and often. Transparency is key.

Who was/is your role model and/or leadership mentor?

My father. He taught me from a very young age how to be a successful businessman.
