2025 Ones To Watch - Industry Leaders: Andrea Caruso, Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP

Andrea Caruso
Partner
Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP

“Andrea recently was elevated to partner by me and my fellow SSRGA partners. The decision was easy! Andrea is a superb litigator – client goals are her primary focus, and the strategy and tactics she employs to achieve them are well planned and executed. She is well-versed in many aspects of real estate law and uses that knowledge to full advantage when advocating for clients. Andrea impressively demonstrates her entrepreneurial skills by regularly generating new business for the firm. And her support of firm initiatives is a testament to who she is –  a confident and well-liked colleague and m entor to more junior attorneys.” - Mindy Stern, Partner, Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP.

Sharing knowledge and expertise:

I am constantly working with the younger associates in my firm to share both my experiences with real estate litigation but also my knowledge of specific case types in hopes of expanding their knowledge while attaining the best outcome for our clients. In working in a law firm that has a specialization with real estate litigation, it is always important to work with less experienced attorneys to share not only the good ideas but the ideas that have not worked in the past to avoid similar outcomes. Best way to learn sometimes is from our mistakes.

Best advice for new leaders:

Listen to those at every level of your organization. Some of the best ideas come from below you.

Giving Back:

I am an active member of the Columbian Lawyers Association of Brooklyn. I am an officer and will be the president in 3 years. I have been a member of this organization since I became a lawyer and have remained active. While I am an officer and there is a ladder to the top, most recently I was nominated for the next level of 3rd VP. The person who nominated me gave the most lovely speech about my family’s history with this organization, with me being the only 4th generation member, something I have always been particularly proud of, as my great grandfather was one of the founding members.
