2024 Year in Review: Thomas Ashforth, RM Friedland

What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2024?

I would say the biggest accomplishment of the year is my move to RM Friedland (RMF) and having most of my clients move with me. Their trust in me and my business partner spoke volumes, and I will continue to work hard to never let them down. RMF is giving us resources we never had before, and their reputation speaks for itself.

What emerging trends will drive investment and development in 2025?

The debate over “return to work” continues for office properties. Many companies now require employees in-office at least three days weekly, with some, like Amazon, mandating five. Fewer people in offices have led to reduced demand for space. A+ properties remain strong, while older B properties face occupancy challenges. Redeveloping offices into housing presents opportunities, but feasibility depends on the property’s adaptability.
