2024 Year in Review: Shahid Jafri, Jafri Capital

Shahid Jafri
Founder, CEO
Jafri Capital

What noteworthy transactions or deals from this year best exemplified key market trends or shifts?

This year, Jafri Capital made a strategic shift by forming a joint venture with Debt & Equity LLC, a leading debt and equity firm, positioning itself for growth in real estate and property technology. The firm is expanding its global presence to Dubai and Geneva. Debt & Equity LLC is led by James McLeod, an experienced global capital markets executive, and Sam Fields, a rising talent in commercial real estate capital markets. This partnership strengthens Jafri Capital’s ability to scale internationally and leverage new opportunities in both sectors.

What emerging trends will drive investment and development in 2025?

In 2025, Jafri Capital will maintain its Manhattan headquarters while continuing its strategic alliance with Logos Development, led by Dan Choi. The firm’s focus will shift to acquiring properties in Florida, driven by anticipated increased real estate activity from a projected interest rate drop. To support growth, Jafri Capital will expand its infrastructure to Tampa and Palm Beach. Ege Ozcan, partner at Jafri Capital and founder of his own management company, will lead acquisitions, with Rob Riley — an MBA graduate from the University of Tampa and expert in real estate and finance — joining the team. Riley will report directly to the CEO in Manhattan.
