2023 Year in Review: Eugene Mekhtiyev, MC Architecture

Eugene Mekhtiyev
Principal
IMC Architecture

What person, project, transaction, or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year? The new type of speculative developments of K-12 educational buildings in NYC has created opportunities for the AEC industry. IMC has designed numerous core-and-shell structures intended for charter and private schools. Once tenants signed up, we completed interior designs to accommodate specific educational needs. Our recent K-12 projects include the 450-student 79-17 51st Ave. in Queens, and the 650-student 39 Truxton St. in Brooklyn.

What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2023? IMC Architecture has expanded its services this year to include interior design. Our new studio focuses on workplace, retail, hospitality, healthcare and residential markets. It has completed several projects, including Le Café Coffee at One Dag and office fit-outs for We Lend and Brooksville, all in Manhattan.
