2023 Women in CRE: Mia Abdou, RM Friedland

Mia Abdou
Associate Broker
RM Friedland

What recent project, transaction, or accomplishment are you most proud of? I was recently approached by a landlord with two medical spaces in two different locations that had been vacant for months. One was a fully built-out medical facility, and the other a vanilla shell. The landlord, who also does brokerage, was having a very hard time leasing these locations because of many factors. Through networking events, I was able to find a large medical group that leased both spaces in minimal time.

Who inspires you most? What qualities do they possess that inspire you? Females who began in this industry decades ago when it was a more male-dominated field. They had to work much harder to prove their value.

Why should this nominee be recognized in our Women in Commercial Real Estate Spotlight?

“From pitching a listing through closing a deal, Mia’s strength is that she is tenacious and creative. She is always working to find the middle ground to make both parties of a transaction satisfied with the outcome.” - Stephen Kaufman, Associate Broker at RM Friedland.

What are the most important factors women in your industry should consider when choosing a firm to build their career with? I think that one of the most important factors to consider when choosing a firm is the support and services that will be provided by the broker.
