2023 Women in CRE: Kristi Nootens, CP Capital US

Kristi Nootens
Co-Head
CP Capital US

What recent project, transaction, or accomplishment are you most proud of? While I’ve worked in the real estate industry since I graduated from college, I made a big career switch from property management to investment management after obtaining my MBA. I’m proud not only of making that jump, but also to have worked my way up from a junior associate level to co-head at CP Capital. It’s a privilege to jointly manage day-to-day operations and lead the firm’s investment strategies alongside my colleague Paul Doocy.

Who inspires you most? What qualities do they possess that inspire you? CP Capital’s former co-founder, Karin Shewer. Karin was an advocate for women and a respected leader who formed genuine relationships with colleagues, employees and investors.

Why should this nominee be recognized in our Women in Commercial Real Estate Spotlight? “As a leader in a male-dominated sector, Kristi is paving the way for younger generations of women to pursue careers in real estate. She has gracefully tackled challenges inherent in the industry, and with substantial experience and esteem, will continue to positively influence the CRE sector for years to come.” - Paul Doocy, Co-Head at CP Capital US.

What are the most important factors women in your industry should consider when choosing a firm to build their career with? A firm whose culture and values align with your personal and professional beliefs. Also one that prioritizes DE&I, offers mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
