In the past year, what project or accomplishment are you most proud of? In the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a unique and special project for Shawmut—our new office on Madison Ave. It is always so exciting to see project plans come to fruition and see the space fulfill its intended use, but it is extra special in this case being that I will enjoy the end product every time I come into work.

Which professional associations or organizations would you recommend to women who are starting out in the AEC industry? For women just starting out in the AEC industry, I recommend getting involved in a program like the ACE Mentor program and looking internally within your organization for opportunities. I’ve personally participated as a mentor in the ACE Mentor Program and joined Shawmut’s Regional Diversity Leadership Council. Both of these organizations have enabled me to interact with people outside of my usual professional circle and have allowed me to bring my full, true self to work.

What is your favorite building in New York? My favorite building in New York is Via 57 West, a residential building in Hell’s Kitchen. This building was a distinctive addition to the city skyline—when viewed from the Hudson River—and it’s great that in addition to apartments it has mixed-used space that includes retail, a parking garage, as well as a large outdoor courtyard.
