2023 Ones to Watch Rising Stars: Robert Bebey, CM&B

Robert Bebey
Project Superintendent
CM&B

Number of years at firm: 3 years

One thing on my bucket list: Travel to every continent

When I am not working, I am: Fishing and boating

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? I am most proud of completing the final phases of Whole Foods Market Union Square. This was an extremely challenging occupied phased renovation, which included taking over the project midway through. It took in the field design changes, creative thinking, and around-the-clock work to complete this project promptly and effectively. Not only did long-term use and accessibility for the store team need to be considered, but the short-term impact on the operations team and customers.

What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?

“RJ Bebey is a throwback to the older generation. It’s evident from interacting with RJ on a regular basis that he grew up on the job site, as his confidence and preparation are comparable to someone with 10+ years of experience. RJ knows his projects inside and out, communicates his expectations very well to the Client, Architect and Subcontractors, and is always thinking three steps ahead with a vision toward project completion. It’s been an absolute pleasure seeing RJ’s growth since joining CM&B three years ago, and I look forward to watching RJ continue to perform at a very high level for years to come.” - Stephen Malenchini, Senior Vice President/ Operations Manager at CM&B
