Real estate associations or organizations that you are currently a member of:
Young Real Estate Professionals of New York; MBA of NY

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of?
Our ECM team arranged LP equity for a value-add multifamily transaction in the Bronx. The sponsor purchased the asset and invested capex through a two-phase value add strategy. The asset was delivered vacant. The sponsor plans on gut renovating the asset and stabilizing through a cash-out refinance. This was a great opportunity for our investor to diversify their investment profile and allocate an investment for 3x multiple on the cash investment. The transaction was arranged through a domestic high net worth investor and a New York real estate family office.

Who was/is your mentor and how did s/he influence/help you in your career?
One of my greatest mentors is my father who introduced me to the fundamentals of real estate at a very young age. His passion for location vs. price vs. size is what made me fascinated in real estate.

Favorite quote:
“If you’re not failing, you’re not pushing your limits, and if you’re not pushing your limits, you’re not maximizing your potential.” – Ray Dalio

How do you contribute to your community or your profession?
Its important for the younger professionals of the industry to help pave the way for future generations entering the workforce. When not behind the screen I like to attend the networking events and help students who are transitioning into the workforce.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
As a kid engines and how they worked always fascinated me. I was interested in all the moving parts working in tandem to produce power. I always thought that I would end up working in the automobile or sports industry.

What led you to your current profession?
When I was applying for full time positions after completing my undergrad at Ole Miss I started an Internship at Jafri Capital. I had an interest in real estate, which led me to take the offer. After three lower middle market equity placements I was brought on full time and we started to grow!

Top three things on your bucket list:
Travel all over Europe and Asia; add a building to the NYC skyline; attend the Olympics

How do you keep your team motivated despite conflicts and obstacles?
In a volatile economy it is important for our team to understand the long-term goals of our firm. Our team needs to be flexible and adapt quickly with the market.
