2019 Women in Building Services: Joy Santopietro DiNapoli, Santopietro Interiors

Name: Joy Santopietro DiNapoli

Title: Managing Director

Company Name: Santopietro Interiors

What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months?
Our greatest professional achievement of the past year was working with Silverstein Properties and Corcoran Sunshine on the design of two model penthouses at the Four Seasons Private Residences — 30 Park Place in Tribeca, one of the city’s premier addresses.

What trend(s) do you predict to dominate your industry in 2019?
In 2019, we anticipate a shift away from the gray tones that have dominated the industry towards more neutral, creamy tones that appeal to both genders. When redesigning the Penthouse at 389 East 89th St., we worked with a neutral palette and layered this color scheme with different textures to evoke a sense of warmth which is so appealing and comforting heading into these winter months.

Which of your philanthropic endeavors are you most proud of?
We are involved in this year’s Design on a Dime, the charitable event to benefit Housing Works, which assists the homeless living with HIV and AIDS. Helping the homeless is a cause that is especially close to our hearts.

What does it mean to you to be a team player?
Being a team player means working as a unit to foster creativity, increase comradery and work towards a common goal. We all have our individual talents however, when joined together and working as a cohesive unit, we are able to achieve feats beyond our individual potential.
