2015 Year in Review - Lynée Hastings

What was your most notable project, deal, transaction or professional achievement in 2015? Professionally, I took a major risk to move to Mexico City to gain global business development experience in 2014, which was a complete game changer for my career. Through that experience, I landed a coveted position as a business development leader with M Moser Associates in 2015. I currently sit in New York and sell commercial interior design and architecture services nationally and globally. It is my dream to be able to connect with my M Moser counterparts across the world, as well as experience and learn first-hand the intricacies of global real estate markets! What real estate project, transaction, market trend or product had a significant impact on your industry in 2015? The high demand for talent attraction and retention has indirectly put a spotlight on the importance of workplace strategy and design. Due to many TAMI (tech, advertising, media and information) companies setting the bar high, via offering amenity spaces, collaboration hubs and overall humanization of the workplace, I have noticed a trend with clients in competing sectors restructuring their standards to create spaces that both attract new talent and incentivize their current staff to stay on board. It is equally as important to provide an experience in the workplace for potential talent as well as to create a workplace that gives a sense of community to those already on board. How will you be supercharging your productivity in 2016? My initial goal for returning to New York was to reconnect with the local market and network on behalf of M Moser. With a full year back under my belt, I intend to build on the successes of this past year; a major highlight for our NY based team was winning a vertical campus project with LinkedIn in the Empire State Building. I look forward to continuing to leverage our global client relationships to land projects throughout North America as well as lay the business development groundwork in new markets where M Moser is opening offices. Toronto, I’m coming for you in 2016!
