10-16-2014 - IVI founders Carl and Mark de Stefanis to be honored at NYU's Evening of Monopoly

Carl and Mark de Stefanis, the founders of IVI International, Inc. (IVI), will be honored by NYU's School of Professional Studies Schack Institute of Real Estate during the annual Evening of Monopoly hosted by the Alumni Association on October 16 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The annual event raises funds for student and for programmatic support. Over the years, it has grown to become an integral part of Schack's professional and alumni networking events. Past honorees include: Harry Macklowe, Jeff Blau, Ric Clark, Veronica Hackett, James Kuhn, Joseph Moinian, Bruce Mosler, Kenneth Patton, Ethan Penner, Scott Rechler, Frank Sciame, Stephen Siegel, Larry Silverstein, Michael Stoler, Donald Trump, and Simon Ziff The Evening of Monopoly brings top real estate industry executives together to network and to partake in a game of Monopoly alongside current and former students of the Schack Institute. Net proceeds from the event are used exclusively to support Schack initiatives such as scholarships, career development initiatives, panel discussions, networking opportunities, and new academic programs. The 21st anniversary celebration of the Schack Institute of Real Estate Evening of Monopoly will be held at ANDAZ Fifth Ave. at 485 Fifth Ave. Schack Institute alumni Carl de Stefanis (1994) and his brother Mark de Stefanis (2001) will serve as the honorary bankers at the event. Carl de Stefanis, P.E., is CEO and has over 38 years of professional experience. He has held positions of primary responsibility in all facets of commercial and residential construction, including real estate development, investment, hands-on engineering and architectural design, environmental engineering, energy reduction auditing and retrofits, construction management, contract negotiations and preparation, construction cost estimating, construction claims analysis, and has provided expert court testimony. Carl is responsible for IVI's growth and profitability. Under his direction, the firm has expanded from three employees in 1976, to over 190 today, with eight regional offices. IVI primarily provides Construction Risk Management (CRM) services on behalf of institutional and private equity investors and mortgagees. Since 1976, the firm has consulted on projects with a total valuation in excess of $70 billion worldwide. As president of Construction Cost Recovery, Inc. (CCR), an affiliate of IVI, Mark de Stefanis has over 30 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, and tax. CCR specializes in construction cost advisory services such as cost segregation and construction cost auditing. Mark also is the director of operations for the IVI Companies. He is a certified construction auditor, a senior construction cost segregation professional, and is licensed by New York State to provide continuing professional education seminars for CPAs, real estate brokers and appraisers. He is a founding member of the American Society of Cost Segregation Professionals (ASCSP). At ASCSP he was on the board of directors and was the co-chairman of the Technical Standard Committee, which established the most widely used industry standard.
