Gibson, Berke, Zhen and Robinson of JLL lease 46,000 s/f to Champs at 10 Times Square

Manhattan, NY JLL has completed a new lease for Champs Sports, a division of Foot Locker Inc., at 10 Times Sq., also known as 1441 Broadway, on behalf of building owner Lechar Realty Corp. The sportswear retailer signed a lease for retail space at the base of the class A, 550,000 s/f office building. Building owner Lechar Realty was represented by Robert Gibson, vice chairman; Davie Berke, executive vice president; Amy Zhen, senior vice president; and Steven Robinson, vice president, all with JLL. The tenant was represented by Mark Finkelstein, president, of Retail Strategies LLC.

“Champs Sports is moving its flagship store into a far-larger and much more visible location,” said Gibson. 

“We are delighted to welcome Champs Sports to 10 Times Sq.,” said Steve Anderson, CEO of Lechar Realty. “The building is in the final stages of a major renovation that includes a new curtain wall on the lower floors, nearly 46,000 s/f of prime retail space, and a new state-of-the-art office lobby to be unveiled in the coming months. Located at the south end of Times Sq., 10 Times Sq. offers prominent signage opportunities that can be seen from blocks away.”

Champs Sports inked a lease for two stories of retail at 10 Times Sq., which is located on the southwest corner of Broadway and West 41st St. The space encompasses 115 ft. of wrap-around frontage along Broadway and West 41st St. on the ground floor, and 165 ft. of wrap-around frontage on the second floor.

The 38-story 10 Times Sq., also known as 1441 Broadway, was designed by Buchman & Kahn and constructed in 1930. The building offers a total of 45,765 s/f of retail space at the base of the building, including 16,901 s/f on the lower level, 12,361 s/f on the ground floor and 16,503 s/f on the second floor.
