Brooklyn, NY James Famularo and Eliot Goldschmidt of Meridian Retail Leasing, the retail leasing division of Meridian Capital Group, have arranged a 15-year lease for the American eatery Grand Canyon Diner at 143 Montague St. in Brooklyn Heights. Famularo and Goldschmidt represented the landlord and the tenant in this transaction and serve as president of New York Retail Leasing, and director, respectively.

Famularo and Goldschmidt produced four offers in one month after another brokerage failed to lease the property. “We received multiple offers for the space, but ultimately the landlord decided to go with Gonzalo because of his 25-year history in the neighborhood,” Goldschmidt said.

Located between Clinton and Henry Sts. on Brooklyn Heights’ main retail corridor, the restaurant features 2,000 s/f of ground-level space and 21 ft. of frontage on Montague St.

The property is conveniently situated one block from the R train at the Court St. station and two blocks from the 2, 3, 4, and 5 subway lines at the Borough Hall station.

The eatery, which is slated to open in the fall of 2018, will be the owner Gonzalo Carreto’s third restaurant in Brooklyn, with Mex Carroll’s Diner serving American and Mexican comfort food in the Columbia Street Waterfront District and another Grand Canyon Diner operating in Park Slope.
