Morefar Golf Outing and BBQ

Brewster, NY According to JLL John Cahill, senior vice president, will host the third annual Morefar Golf Outing and Barbeque on July 26 at the mysterious Morefar Back O’Beyond Golf. Cahill has hosted the fundraiser for the past three years to support St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children.

“Families come to St. Mary’s in search of the best care possible,” said Cahill. “Support from the philanthropic community helps bridge the gap between government funding and the true cost of delivering these critical services for the sickest children in the New York City area. I’m pleased to announce this unique experience where executives and leaders from the real estate and brokerage industries can help kids from St. Mary’s, while enjoying one of the country’s most prestigious private golf courses.”

“St. Mary’s greatly appreciates the support and friendship of John Cahill, a true champion for our children,” said Dr. Edwin Simpser, St. Mary’s president and CEO. “It’s through the support of the community and events like this Morefar Golf Outing that help us provide our life-enhancing programs and services to children throughout the five boroughs of New York City, Long Island and Westchester.”

The outing is sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Manhattan, which will be on hand that day with tee gifts, competitions, prizes and a new Mercedes AMG C43 Coupe for the winner of the hole-in-one. Some of the prizes include a Sectional Tournament with airfare and accommodations at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, Calif. All players can test drive a new Mercedes-Benz and will receive a custom Mercedes-Benz Cobra wedge featuring Rickie Fowler’s signature. Morefar Back O’Beyond Golf Club is located on Federal Hill Rd., on 500 acres bordering Danbury, Conn., and Southeast, N.Y. It was established in 1964 by Cornelius Vander Starr, who founded the company that would later be known as AIG. Some say his ashes are interned on the site. The club was owned by Starr International, a Bermuda-based company long associated with AIG and the Starr family. It is currently controlled by Maurice Greenberg, former AIG CEO. Memberships are not available to the public and the course may only be used by employees of Starr International. Very few people set foot on the course. Morefar is immaculately maintained and has a collection of whimsical bronze sculptures throughout the course, providing  a special and unique golf experience. Foursomes and twosomes are limited.
