What was your most notable project, deal, transaction or professional achievement in 2018?
2018 was a good year for Mojo Stumer Associates. We won our 3rd Innovation in Design Award from New York Cottages & Gardens Magazine, and we were recognized for several other awards and achievements. We have been working on and completed a variety of interesting new projects, among them a new triplex apartment on Park Avenue, a new mixed-use apartment building in Roslyn, a new Community Center in Great Neck, a renovation of a major private school in Long Island, and several new private homes and retail facilities.

What was the best decision that you made in 2018 and how did it impact your business?
Towards the end of this year, we brought in a Marketing person to advance the scope of our firms’ work and to further our Marketing and PR efforts. To that end, we are looking forward to many new opportunities for growth and connection in the new year.

What market trend(s) will impact your industry in 2019?
The housing market for low- and middle-income homes will be on the rise in the coming year. We welcome the consideration to build our portfolio of residential work in all ranges of housing, and to bring our creative design and modern approach to all environments, spaces and building types.

What was an unexpected event that occurred in 2018, and how did it impact your career or personal life?
My wife, Susan, and I were honored by the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center in November, which was an incredible experience for both of us, and a surprise to have been chosen as an honoree. This led me to some additional studies and research on the holocaust and my findings have impacted the way I view life.

Do you have any New Year’s Resolution(s)?
To spend more time with my family and my two other passions, photography and motorcycles.
