What was the best decision that you made in 2018 and how did it impact your business?

The best decision made this year was the establishment of CoRE Consulting with three extremely knowledgeable, professional, and driven engineers. Since April of 2018, we have built up a strong foundation for the firm and are growing exponentially and steadily, hiring new and experienced talent that have proven to be great assets to the firm. Our team is passionate and ambitious. There is much to look forward to in 2019.

What market trend(s) will impact your industry in 2019?

With Amazon’s decision to establish their New York headquarters in Long Island City, we are expecting even more development in the area, inclusive of mixed-use, residential, and affordable housing. New construction and rehabilitation projects continue to make a strong-hold in the immediate NYC market, as well as in the outer tri-state area. Jersey City, just a quick commute into Lower Manhattan continues to show strength in attracting new developments. Strong interest in US commercial real estate investment will bring plenty of new opportunities for acquisitions, rehabilitation projects and new developments. Congress’ establishment of Opportunity Zones will attract new investors and existing players to over 8,700 zones in every state and territory, opening up new markets for not only CoRE but for Commercial Real Estate and Construction professionals as a whole. It is an exciting time for our industry.

Do you have any New Year’s Resolution(s)?

Aside from travel, which I think many strive to do, there are a few New Year’s Resolutions that come to mind. I’d like to learn something new as often as possible; build up my skills and add a new dimension of awareness to my profession. Giving back to my local community, and to the greater NYC community, through a few of the amazing organizations that exist in this city; getting CoRE more involved and building on its social responsibility.
