Warshavsky of Gettry Marcus honored by NACVA

Woodbury, NY According to Gettry Marcus CPA, P.C., Mark Warshavsky, CPA/ABV/CFF, CVA, CBA, ASA, CFE, MAFF, DABFA, MBA, has been named the 2017 recipient of the Thomas R. Porter Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA). Warshavsky accepted the award during the NACVA/CTI Annual Consultants’ Conference, June 7-10th at Swissôtel, Chicago, IL.

The Thomas R. Porter Lifetime Achievement Award is presented annually by NACVA to an individual who exemplifies the qualities that Porter displayed passionately throughout his life and within the financial profession, who demonstrated exemplary character and leadership, and has contributed professionally to NACVA and the industry.  NACVA’s mission is to provide resources to its over 7,000 members and to enhance their status, credentials and esteem in the field of performing valuations, financial litigation and other related advisory services. 

Warshavsky was selected for this award in recognition of his many accomplishments and his long-term commitment as a practitioner, author, speaker and teacher in the business valuation and financial forensics community. 

Brien Jones, COO and executive vice president of NACVA and The Consultant’s Training Institute (CTI) said about Warshavsky, “He was a founding member and instructor of our Forensic Accounting Academy and also a lead subject matter expert for the Certified Valuation Analyst, CVA, curriculum and body of knowledge that is still taught today.”

In accepting the award, Mr. Warshavsky thanked the members of NACVA, his family and colleagues who have assisted him throughout his career.  In recognizing his colleagues, he added, “Winning this award would not have been possible without the inspiration of my colleagues, for whom I have the greatest respect.”

Warshavsky is the partner-in-charge of Gettry Marcus’ Business Valuation & Litigation Services Group, one of the largest in the New York metropolitan area, consisting of credentialed business valuation and forensic accounting professionals.  He has been retained by businesses, law firms, financial institutions, insurance companies and individuals to provide services in diverse areas of forensic accounting and business valuations, including complex litigation assignments.
