Warren of Webb & Brooker appointed to REBNY board of directors

According to Webb & Brooker, Inc., the firm's president, Bernard Warren, has been appointed to the board of governors of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) as of January. The governors of REBNY chart the organization's policies in close and continuous consultation with REBNY's elected committees. These committees are composed of board members who are knowledgeable in their respective fields. The panels focus on issues that concern the industry and formulate REBNY's positions. REBNY was created in 1896 as NYS' first real estate trade association. The board's ranks consist of 12,000 owners, builders, brokers, managers, banks, insurance companies, pension funds, real estate investment trusts, utilities, attorneys, architects, marketing professionals and many other individuals and institutions involved in New York realty. Its members are New York City's most talented, energetic and influential real estate professionals. REBNY works on behalf of its members to promote public and industry policies and frequently speaks before government bodies to expand New York's economy, encourage the development and renovation of commercial and residential real property, enhance the city's appeal to investors and residents and facilitate property management. In addition, the Board conducts various professional education programs including state-certified required courses for licensing, continuing education courses and free seminars to help members hone their professional skills. Warren is highly skilled at establishing and maintaining relationships with properties, attorneys and government agencies. As President of Webb & Brooker, Inc., Warren, is directly responsible for supervising the senior staff and is the main liaison for building boards and committees, regularly conducting staff meetings and negotiations with contractors. Having owned and managed his own properties in Harlem and Queens, Warren has an insider's perspective on the New York real estate community. A Registered Apartment Manager, he serves as a Life Governor of the National Registered Apartment Managers Board of Directors and he is professionally affiliated with the Greater Harlem Real Estate Board and the National Housing Conference. In 2005, Warren was selected as a Trustee for Stillman College, a historically Black college in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and he was recently named to the Board of Managers for the Jamaica YMCA, an organization with a vision of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities In 2006, Warren was elected to the Board of Directors of the Baybridge Clubhouse and Health Club. Also, in 2006, Warren became one of the founding members of New York Affordable Housing Management Association, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation whose purpose is to promote higher business standards and better service to owner-clients. He is also an Associate Member of the Federation of New York Housing Cooperatives & Condominiums (FNYHC) and a Professional Subscriber of the Council of New York Cooperatives & Condominiums.
