200 Park Avenue - Manhattan, NY

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has awarded LEED Gold certification to CBRE Group's Midtown office at 200 Park Ave. (the Met Life Building). In 2011, CBRE moved into its new space in the building, where the company has been headquartered for 25 years.
The new office space includes a two-story reception area and an outdoor-planted terrace, which was designed by Gensler. Other project team members include: Lighting design by HDLC, engineering by Robert Derector Associates and construction services by StructureTone.
CBRE's new office exceeded the requirement for LEED Gold for commercial interiors certification, attaining 73 out of a possible 110 points.
Another green feature of the space includes the purchase of renewable energy. Choosing green power reduces dependence on fossil-fuel-based electricity. Throughout this project, several sustainable best practices were implemented, including Energy Star-rated office equipment, low/no-VOC paint and a recycling program during the construction process.
