Urban Edge Properties signs David’s Bridal and Wren Kitchens at Wilkes Barre Commons

Wilkes Barre, PA Urban Edge Properties signed David’s Bridal for a new 8,108 s/f store at Wilkes Barre Commons. Slated to open later this year, the bridal store is relocating from a nearby mall location and will be adjacent to Marshall’s and Ross. This is Wren Kitchens’ first location in the region, where they have also established their first U.S. manufacturing facility. The UK’s top kitchen retailer is now open in a 30,624 s/f space.

“These two leases represent terrific new energy for Wilkes Barre Commons,” said Joshua Birns, vice president of leasing at Urban Edge. “Replacing closed large-format stores is challenging in this environment and we are very pleased with the dynamic mix of offerings now available at this property.”

A dominant power center in the market, Wilkes-Barre Commons is anchored by Target, Ross, Marshall’s, Petco and Bob’s Furniture. A new stand-alone Panera Bread opened on the property last year. The center is 95% leased.

Joe Dougherty and Pat Gallagher of Metro Commercial represented Urban Edge in the transactions. Gregg Lurie of RCS Real Estate Advisors represented David’s Bridal; Adam Weinblatt and Marc Frankel of Newmark represented Wren Kitchens.
