TruAmerica Multifamily strengthens portfolio management with two senior hires

Danny DeMarco

Manhattan, NY TruAmerica Multifamily continues to expand with two senior hires as the firm continues to strengthen its portfolio management infrastructure and expand its geographic reach. Joe Deliberto joins as managing director, fund management, a consolidated position elevating portfolio management functions, while Danny DeMarco joins as director of acquisitions, where he will lead the firm’s acquisitions efforts in the Northeast and establish its new New York/New Jersey metro office.

Deliberto will add a streamlined layer of portfolio management leadership to TruAmerica’s platform as the firm continues to scale. Reporting to the chief operating officer, Deliberto will provide a holistic view of performance, portfolio construction, business plan execution, and realization strategy across various vehicles. The reinforced role comes as TruAmerica’s investment vehicles grow and evolve.

“Adding Joe to our leadership team reflects the continued evolution of our platform as our investment strategies grow,” said Mark Enfield, chief operating officer of TruAmerica Multifamily. “His experience and dedicated focus in this newly consolidated role will strengthen how we approach portfolio construction, capital deployment and performance as we continue to grow.”

Deliberto brings more than 15 years of institutional real estate investment experience to TruAmerica. He most recently served as director of asset management at Ashcroft Capital, where he oversaw the firm’s Dallas and Orlando portfolios. Previously, he was senior director of portfolio management at Benedict Canyon Equities, where he led refinancing and disposition efforts across $2.5 billion in multifamily transaction volume. He began his career as a CPA at PwC and Deloitte.

The addition of DeMarco further expands TruAmerica’s acquisition capabilities into the Northeast, a growing target geography for the firm. Opening TruAmerica’s New York City office, he will lead acquisitions across the region. The new office establishes a dedicated presence in a core institutional market and further broadens TruAmerica’s national acquisition footprint.

“Establishing a dedicated presence in the Northeast is a deliberate step in expanding our acquisition platform,” said Wes LaBar, executive managing director and head of acquisitions at TruAmerica Multifamily. “The Northeast is an important institutional market and a continued focus of our strategy. Danny’s experience and relationships will be instrumental as we identify new opportunities and deploy capital across our investment vehicles.”

DeMarco joins TruAmerica most recently from LivCor, a Blackstone company. At TruAmerica, he will be responsible for leading the firm’s Northeast acquisition strategy while establishing and growing its presence in the region through the new New York/New Jersey office.

Together, the appointments underscore TruAmerica’s continued investment in the leadership and infrastructure supporting its growth and portfolio performance.
