Thru the Lens: AMS-IX New York launch

The mayor of Amsterdam, Netherlands, Sabey Data Center Properties, and AMS-IX (Amsterdam Internet Exchange), the world's leading Internet exchange operator, unveiled the launch of AMS-IX New York within Intergate.Manhattan, Sabey's one million s/f facility at 375 Pearl St. AMS-IX is the only multi-point, distributed and neutral Open-IX certified Internet exchange in the New York and New Jersey metropolitan area. The exchange has already signed Netflix, the world's leading Internet television network, and IX Reach, a global leading provider of wholesale carrier solutions, as the first two customers for AMS-IX New York. At present, 16 additional customers have applied for a connection to the exchange.
