As those of you who have followed my column here in The New York Real Estate Journal, you’ve come to know that I’m always searching for what can be rented. I just returned from a hunting trip to Colorado, and discovered that you can rent an entire outfitters tent, complete with wood burning stove, and sleeping cots. And prior to leaving for my vacation, I attended NEOCON East (The East Coast and Government centric version of NECON Chicago). This event was held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The very first thing I noticed was a row of electric mini vehicles designed primarily for moving handicapped attendees effortlessly around the large convention center space. These scooters as they’re referred to by the manufacturer and its dealer network are provided by Scootaround Mobility Solutions, and a quick visit to their website revealed that they rent primarily two types of scooters, the standard version which can handle up to 250 pounds and a heavy duty version which can accommodate passengers of up to 300 pounds. Each version comes equipped with a front mounted basket which makes it easy to store convention materials one picks up at trade shows, like brochures and advertising specialties. A comfortable, adjustable swivel seat, and padded arm rests make this just the perfect solution for anyone who has difficulty walking, and makes attending a trade show in a large venue pleasurable for anyone who suffers a malady that would otherwise make it impossible to attend!  http://www.scootaround.com/ Scootaround Mobility Solutions provides these vehicles for as little as $65 per day at the PA Convention Center, and also rents wheel chairs for $25 per day.
