SWBR welcomes DiGiacomo, Ferris and O’Brien; Pietrantoni earns license

Rochester, NY According to SWBR, Gianfranco Pietrantoni received his New York State architectural license from the New York State Education Department. Pietrantoni is a project architect at the firm. The firm also welcomes architectural designers Alli DiGiacomo and Grace Ferris and structural designer Cassidy O’Brien.

As a newly licensed architect in SWBR’s workplace studio, Pietrantoni develops a variety of science, technology, and industry projects from early concept through design development. He is also responsible for producing drawing sets and construction documents, architectural studies for new and existing buildings, and coordinating multiple subconsultants and disciplines on projects. Requirements for this licensure include a minimum degree requirement in architecture and a certain number of years of experience under a licensed architect based on the level of education. Pietrantoni completed six New York State exams to receive his license and holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Technology from Alfred State College and a Master of Architecture from University at Buffalo. Of his additional responsibilities, Pietrantoni said, “The experience and mentorship I’ve had within our workplace studio has prepared me for more responsibility and helped me feel comfortable with my new role.”

Former SWBR summer intern, DiGiacomo develops drawings and 3D models for a variety of higher education and K12 projects as part of the firm’s education studio. In addition to a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Miami University, DiGiacomo is a Certified Passive House Consultant.

As part of SWBR’s housing studio, Ferris assists the team from project conception to construction completion for multifamily housing projects. Ferris received a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Technology from Alfred State College.

O’Brien, also a former SWBR summer intern, is responsible for the structural design and detailing on a variety of building types throughout the firm. O’Brien received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University and will be starting her Master of Science in Civil Engineering at University at Buffalo in the fall 2020.
