SWBR names Gibbons, Simonetti and BeBraal as senior associates

According to the SWBR Architects board of directors, Joseph Gibbons, Robert Simonetti and Peter DeBraal, have been named senior associates of the firm and Daniel Dwyer and Jennifer LaChance have been named associates. Gibbons, AIA, LEED AP, CCS, CDT is a designer for a variety of projects at SWBR. From single residence occupancy residential facilities for the mentally disabled, to independent living senior housing facilities, to automobile dealerships, he is adept at turning the client's vision into a clear design solution. Gibbons' strength lies in his commitment to the concept of teamwork where he believes that the client, architect, and design consultants are actively involved in the process from the very beginning. He is a LEED accredited professional and is an active member of the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Simonetti, AIA, LEED AP is one of the firm's senior designers. He specializes in developing senior living environments where comfort, safety, security and a home-like atmosphere are combined. Simonetti has recently been working on developing environments where seniors can receive assistance and support with daily activities while maintaining their vitality and independence. He received his master of Business Administration, master of Architecture, and bachelor of Professional Studies in Architecture from SUNY at Buffalo. Simonetti is a LEED accredited professional and is a member of the local AIA. DeBraal, AIA, CSI, LEED AP has a broad array of experience, in many project types. His most recent work at SWBR has focused on the design for college and university research and lab facilities, most recently with the University of Rochester and Cornell University. DeBraal is a particular asset to the SWBR team because he has a keen ability to bring together both the technological aspects of a project while balancing a high level of concentration on the architectural and sustainable design aspects of the projects. DeBraal has a masters of Architecture in Design and a bachelor of Architecture both from Kent State University. He has been a LEED accredited professional since 2000 and is very active in local professional organizations such as the AIA and the Construction Specifications Institute. Dwyer, AIA has experience in a variety of architectural projects, with an emphasis on projects in the educational sector for both college and universities and K-12. His responsibilities include meeting and coordinating with the client and consultants, managing the overall project budget envelope, supervising the preparation of the construction documents and overseeing project team coordination and scheduling. Dwyer received his bachelor of Architecture from Pennsylvania State University and his associates degree in Architectural Technology from Onondaga Community College. LaChance, AIA, is an architect and medical planner who works with project teams and clients to provide planning, design, and project development. She specializes in health, science and research projects with a primary focus in medical design that includes master planning, inpatient and outpatient facilities, primary care clinics and various types of laboratories. LaChance received her bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture from Miami University. She is a member of the AIA and a member of the Genesee Valley Regional Association of Healthcare Engineers.
