Hauppauge, NY The Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency (SCIDA) had a landmark year in 2025, reinforcing its position as one of the state’s most effective engines for economic growth and job creation.
In 2025, SCIDA closed 11 major projects representing more than $341 million in capital investment across Suffolk County. These initiatives will result in the creation or retention of 1,113 permanent jobs, generating a combined payroll exceeding $77.2 million, with an average salary of $65,063.
SCIDA also achieved its highest annual revenue in more than a decade, generating $1.73 million in project-related fees, alongside a significant increase in net income—further demonstrating the agency’s strong fiscal stewardship and self-sustaining model.
The agency’s 2025 portfolio reflects a strategic focus on strengthening Suffolk County’s economic foundation, including:

• 1 assisted living community
• 1 hospitality development
• 1 multi-family housing project

“The past year was exceptional for the Suffolk County IDA, marking more than five consecutive years of sustained investment and job growth, even amid significant economic challenges,” said Kelly Murphy, executive director and CEO of SCIDA.

SCIDA’s success was further supported by a coordinated strategy of targeted marketing, public relations, digital outreach, sponsorships, and community engagement initiatives, ensuring Suffolk County remained competitive in attracting and retaining businesses during a challenging economic climate.
Highlighted 2025 Projects
• Gemini Pharmaceuticals — A second-generation, family-owned manufacturer invested nearly $14 million to expand operations in Hauppauge and Commack, creating 50 jobs and retaining 256, with average salaries of $53,200.
• Nationwide 360 — Relocated and consolidated operations into a 75,000 s/f facility in Hauppauge, retaining 33 jobs and creating 10 new positions, with average salaries exceeding $91,000.
• Sterling North America Inc. — Invested $6 million to redevelop a vacant industrial facility in the Long Island Innovation Park at Hauppauge, adding 8 jobs to its workforce of 253.
• Residence Inn by Marriott, Melville — A $50 million hospitality investment transforming a long-vacant office property, generating 500 construction jobs and 32 permanent positions.
• Cornerstone Kings Park — A $22 million transit-oriented housing development revitalizing the Kings Park downtown corridor, creating 90 construction jobs and contributing nearly $1.9 million annually to the local economy.
Statewide Recognition
According to a report by New York State comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, SCIDA once again ranked among the top-performing IDAs statewide:
• 11,900 jobs created across 142 projects
• $2.6 billion in total project value
• Ranked 4th in New York State for both net job gains and total full-time jobs
