Stalco Const. holds 3rd L.I. Real Estate Movers & Shakers Reception

Nearly 200 commercial real estate, architecture, and finance professionals attended the 3rd Stalco Real Estate Movers & Shakers Networking Reception. The event was open exclusively to principals and senior executives of New York City and Long Island's leading real estate and design firms. Stalco Real Estate Movers & Shakers Networking Receptions serve as the region's main venues for exchanging ideas and networking among the building industry's heavy hitters. Held at Stalco Construction, Inc.'s headquarters, the latest event was themed the "Roaring Twenties" and celebrated Stalco's impressive 100% growth in 2009. "The third Real Estate Movers & Shakers Reception was the opportunity to celebrate Stalco Construction's dynamic growth in 2009, achieved despite the challenging economic conditions across the country," said Alan Nahmias, Stalco president. "Our company has doubled its project volume from $40 million in 2008 to $80 million in 2009. This growth has allowed Stalco to increase its personnel by 30% this year." "We selected the theme of 'Roaring Twenties' for our third reception to remind our colleagues and partners in the real estate and AEC industries that the economy will recover and now is the time to develop new business strategies and marketing plans," added Stalco Construction Principal Kevin G. Harney. Stalco employees and many attendees joined in the fun and dressed up as 1920s flappers, gangsters, and businessmen. Actor, and Robert De Niro stunt double and impersonator, Joseph Manuella and Joe Pesci look-a-like Vincent Caravello entertained the guests. George Mel's Jazz Trio provided live music, including numerous 1920s standards. George Mel is an internationally celebrated musician, whose artistic career includes collaborations with Walter Trout of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers; Badal Roy, a member of Miles Davies' and Herbie Hancock's groups; and clarinet legend Perry Robinson.
