Solar Nation installs solar-electric system for Smiles Fashion Corp.

Solar Nation has completed the installation and commissioning of a 118 kilowatt solar-electric system for Smiles Fashion Corp. at their distribution warehouse. Smiles Fashion installed the solar-electric system to reduce and stabilize energy costs and to follow through on its long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship and energy conservation. The 9,130 s/f solar-electric system was designed, engineered, and installed by Solar Nation. The rooftop array is comprised of 504 SolarWorld 235 watt solar panels, manufactured in the U.S. The system incorporates a Power-One inverter and a Deck web-based monitoring system. Clean, renewable energy generated by the system would be enough to power up to 8 homes and will meet nearly 100% of Smile Fashion's net metered electricity needs for their building, providing immediate savings for the company. The installation of the solar-electric system is part of Smiles Fashion's continuing dedication to environmental impact reduction. It is estimated that the company's solar-electric system will cut greenhouse gas emissions by nearly 94 metric tons annually — the equivalent CO2 offset of 2,406 tree seedlings planted or taking 12 cars off the road each year. "We are very happy with Solar Nation. They completed our project on-time and on-budget with superior customer service. We look forward to collaborating with Solar Nation on future projects,"said Prasad Gurnani, ViP of Smiles Fashion Corp. "The sun provides us with a free and abundant resource every single day. These solar panels allow us to harness that power and convert it into an economic benefit for us as a company." "Smiles Fashion Corp. has shown its commitment to sustainability at its facility. We are proud that they chose Solar Nation to further that commitment to energy conservation. By installing an advanced solar-electric system, Smiles Fashion will realize immediate and long-term savings that will make them an even stronger business in New Jersey, all while reducing emissions and helping the environment," said Dan Drummond, CEO of Solar Nation.
