SMPS L.I. past and upcoming events

SMPS Long Island closed out 2008 with their annual holiday party which took place at Genji in Jericho. In addition to the networking opportunities, the attendees were treated to a full Japanese dinner (complete cooking performance included), karaoke and a Lego build-out contest. On January 21, Sharyn Yorio, president of Sustainable Marketing, Inc. was a featured speaker at SMPS-LI's program titled "Direct Your Career to Maximize Your Value." This informative program highlighted the skills one needs to acquire in order to maximize his or her career growth and overall value to a firm. SMPS-LI is in the final stages of planning its February 11 event, "Weathering the Economic Cycle: A Long Island Town's Perspective." This program, moderated by John Cameron Jr., P.E., managing partner of Cameron Engineering and chairman of the Long Island regional planning council, will feature representatives from various Long Island towns who will discuss the economy's effect on the procurement of projects in place and in development.
