According to H2M Labs, INC, an environmental testing laboratory firm, Joann Slavin, senior vice president has been honored by Carol's Cause at the annual Peaches 'N Cream Gala.
Founded in 2001 in memory of Carol Laino, Carol's Cause is a not-for-profit organization that provides monetary grants to medical professionals who continue their education in gynecologic oncology. Joseph Laino, Carol's husband, established Carol's Cause in his wife's memory to help find a cure for Gynecological Cancer, and help other women affected by this disease. In total four were honored at the Peaches 'N Cream Gala; Linda Amper, Ph.D.; Honorable Michael Balboni; Patricia Hogan, RN, MA, NEA-BC and Joann Slavin, senior vice president, and laboratory manager for H2M Labs, INC.
Slavin started with H2M in 1980 as a chemist. Slavin received both an M.S. and B.S. degree in Toxicology from St. John's University. She is on the board of directors for the New York Association of Approved Environmental Laboratories, as well as a member, and she is the president of the Melville Rotary.
