According to SL Green Realty Corp., 15 of its buildings in its New York City portfolio are recipients of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Energy Star label.
100 Park Ave., 420 Lexington Ave., 100 Church St., 180 Maiden Ln., 521 Fifth Ave., 673 First Ave., and 600 Lexington Ave. are among the properties recognized for superior performance, and among the most energy efficient buildings in the nation.
According to the EPA, properties with the Energy Star Label are more than 30% more efficient than those without, resulting in lower operating costs for both the landlord and tenants.
"We are pleased that so many of our assets are recognized with this label, eight for the second consecutive year, and the achievement is a reflection of our on-going commitment to our environmental sustainability program throughout the SL Green portfolio," said Steven Durels, SL Green executive vice president, director of leasing and Real Property. "These designations demonstrate our continued efforts to provide our tenants with a best-in-class work environment."
In addition to the New York City properties, eight buildings in SL Green's suburban portfolio, namely 360 Hamilton Ave., 140 Grand St., 150 Grand St., 100 Summit Lake Dr., 500 Summit Lake Dr., 500 West Putnam, 750 Washington Blvd. and 1055 Washington Blvd., boast the Energy Star Label distinction.
