Skanska USA hosts "Family Safety Day" at its civil office

Skanska USA hosted "Family Safety Day" at its civil office.Skanska employees attended the event along with their children to learn important safety tips directly from Skanska's own Safety Council as well as the NYPD, FDNY and The Alley Pond Environmental Center, just in time for a back-to-school. The Alley Pond Environmental Center brought live animals to the event, teaching the importance of environmental protection and the planet's endangered species, the FDNY took the children and their parents through a smokehouse, offering invaluable tips on how to react quickly in the case of emergency. Additionally, the NYPD fingerprinted the children, and a physician's assistant spoke about the importance of personal health. Everyone was eager to participate in the day's activities; therefore, this is a great example of a way to educate children while making sure they are engaged and having fun! Safety is one of Skanska's core values; and the company makes a constant effort to spread awareness about the importance of safety as well as offer impeccable safety training to their employees so their families have the confidence to know they will be safe at work each day.
