Siano of Sabre Real Estate Group: Built for the new normal

Name: Jayson Siano Title: Managing Principal Company/Firm: Sabre Real Estate Group Years with company/firm: Three years Years in field: Thirteen years Years in real estate industry: Thirteen years Telephone: 516-874-8070 Email: [email protected] URL: www.sabreny.com Real Estate Associations/Affiliations: ICSC, The Retail Network, REBNY, LIREG, CIBS What are you hoping to accomplish by attending and/or exhibiting at the show and what is different about this year's show? The energy is finally back and there is a lot of activity right now; I believe that this will be a very productive show as a result. I am planning to push along and hopefully finalize existing deals and as always make new connections. I will also be reflecting on previous years since this will be the last year that this show is held at the Hilton. How did your company withstand the recession and what changes have you made to grow and succeed during the recovery of the retail market? We are a newer company so we were built for the new normal. We have a diverse platform which enables us to focus attention on the active segments in a down economy. It is only natural that when one thing slows down, something else picks up. Sabre has filled a void in the marketplace and as a result we have grown very quickly over the past three years from inception. Retailers, owners/developers, investors and brokers have all been looking for a new and exciting option in the NY Metro area. I believe this is what has afforded us great success in a relatively short amount of time. I believe timing is everything and fortunately we could not have timed it better. How does your company use social media? Has social media been a beneficial tool in generating more business? Being a newer company social media has helped us in many ways. First and foremost I would say from a brand recognition standpoint. I have a research/marketing background and am responsible for building the Sabre brand. I really enjoy being involved with our marketing team on a day to day basis. When I set out to start Sabre, I wanted to build a brand and culture first and a real estate company second. The success of a broker weights heavily on communication and this goes hand and hand with social media. There are so many new and unique opportunities to get information out to the universe. Most importantly, there are so many ways to get your brand and culture out there without someone ever having to meet you or step foot in your office. The younger generation is very fortunate and does not have to work as hard as our predecessors to accomplish these things. Virtually everything is available at the click of a button.
