Shkury of Ariel Property Advisors elected as vice president of BMAR

Shimon Shkury, president of Ariel Property Advisors, has been elected vice president of the Manhattan Residential Division of the Bronx-Manhattan North Association of Realtors (BMAR). "I'm thrilled to be able to make a contribution to this dynamic organization by serving as a resource to our members about the multifamily market in Manhattan," Shkury said. "Ariel Property Advisors specializes in marketing investment properties and produces a number of research reports such as the Multifamily Month in Review: New York City, which analyzes multifamily transactions in neighborhoods in Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens." As president of Ariel, he oversees all investment sales and research operations for the company. Prior to starting Ariel Property Advisors, he was a partner with Massey Knakal Realty Services where he built a 20-person operation in Northern Manhattan, the Bronx, and Westchester. Since 2002, Shkury and his team have advised private clients, institutions, operators, equity providers and lenders on pricing, positioning and selling of assets throughout New York City. Together they have closed close to $1 billion in transactions and have provided valuation services to clients on more than 2,500 properties with an estimated value of $12 billion. Originally from Israel, Shkury previously served as a lieutenant in the Israeli Defense Force. He came to the United States in 1999 to earn an MBA in finance at the Wharton School of Business and a master's degree in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. Shkury devotes much of his spare time and resources to professional and non-profit organizations. In addition to his position with the BMAR, Shkury has leadership roles in the National Realty Club, the UJA Federation, The Rabin Medical Center, The Chabad Israel Center, Legal Outreach, The Manhattan School of Music, and the State of Israel Bonds Committee.
