Segarra named new director of mktg. at MWE

Margolin, Winer & Evens LLP (MWE, Garden City, N.Y. and New York, N.Y.), a leading certified public accounting and business advisory firm, has appointed Tracey Segarra as director of marketing. Segarra will be responsible for managing all of MWE's marketing functions from advertising and public relations to Internet marketing, direct marketing, seminars, special events and internal communications. She brings to the position over 12 years of experience in the accounting field. Prior to joining MWE, Segarra served as director of marketing for the certified public accounting firm of Citrin Cooperman & Company, where she pioneered the marketing function and oversaw all aspects of marketing and communications for the 350-person firm. Segarra started her career as a reporter and editor for newspapers and wire services, including United Press International, Accounting Today and WebCPA.com. In addition to writing articles for CPA Practice Management Report and the publications of both the Association for Accounting Marketing and the Legal Marketing Association, Segarra is an active public speaker who has presented at various national legal and accounting marketing conferences. Segarra holds a bachelor of arts from the Binghamton University.
