Schwagerl addresses L.I. Appraisal Institute

Nearly 75 professional real estate appraisers attended the September 18 event held at the Westbury Manor, hosted by the Long Island Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. The speaker for the evening was Brian Schwagerl, vice president, Real Estate & Facility Planning of the Hearst Corporation. Schwagerl discussed the positive environmental impact and economic value of green construction. He discussed the construction of the Hearst Tower in Manhattan, the first green building completed in New York City and the challenges met including energy efficient designs, LEED standards, material supplies and composition, and green building criteria and values.
