Contact Name : Sarah Jermano, president Company Name : CRBOMA Email : [email protected] Phone : 518-694-5016 Address, City, State : 1450 Western Avenue, Ste. 101, Albany, NY 12203 What was your greatest professional accomplishment in 2010? Working with other NYS BOMA local affiliates to start the BOMA NY Coalition. The primary objective for forming a state coalition was to enhance the involvement and effectiveness of BOMA at the state legislative level. In large part, the BOMA state coalition exists to monitor and influence legislation for the benefit of the commercial real estate industry. What was your most notable project, deal or transaction in 2010? Our 2010 TOBY Awards (The Outstanding Building of the Year) was our most success event of its kind to date. Despite the uncertain economy, we realized a 38% increase in attendance 38% over 2009 as well as a vast increase in sponsors and new memberships. This would not have been possible wittout an enthusiastic TOBY Committee that worked long and hard to make our dreams a reality. What predictions do you have for commercial real estate in 2011? I believe the Capital Region real estate market will unfortunatley see a decline in occpancy and net absorbtion due to the forecasted of 900 state employee layoffs. In the private sector, however, I believe that we will see a resurgence in construction and the commercial real estate market! What are some of your New Year's Resolutions? My resolution with CRBOMA is to work more closely with our members to further the success of our relationship and provide relavant services to our members. Also, I hope to work more closely with our state's elected officials and leaders to help shape NYS policies in order to create a business friendly environment condusive to property owners' needs.
