Sabatino of Realty USA completes $1.6m sale of Grandma's Pie Shop

Realty USA commercial division has sold the famous 160-seat Grandma's Pie Shop on 1273 Central Ave. for $1.6 million. Tony Sabatino of the firm sold the restaurant which also included an additional building that was Grandma's Country Store. The seller was Joe Danaher, founder of Grandma's. A total of 2.53 acres in the Colonie area is where Grandma's Famous Pies brings lines around the building at holiday time. Joe Fagan, the purchaser, owns Ralph's Restaurant and Tavern. Fagan has no plans to change Grandma's. The business was opened as a pie and sandwich shop in 1977 by Danaher, naming it for his grandmother, Catherine Mangan.
