An advocate for sustainable design and technical innovation, his extensive résumé includes design leadership and realization of projects in New York such as the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, the Queens Museum of Art, the Fulton St. Transit Center, and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, to name just a few. His talent for engaging the best talents of a design team and incorporating architecture, engineering and site/urban design issues into a cohesive whole will prove an invaluable asset to the New York Wheel team.

Ryan earned his B.Arch with Distinction from McGill University's School of Architecture in Montreal, and his Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. He has taught architectural design as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Architecture at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a visiting critic at NYIT, Parsons The New School for Design, McGill University, and Columbia University. Most recently he gave a presentation to this year's freshman class at Parsons, entitled "Sustainable Systems in Large Building Retrofits," and presented a case study of the Javits Center renovation at the 2013 Dynamic Facades Conference in New York. Before joining Perkins Eastman, Ryan was a Senior Associate with FXFOWLE, where he served as Project Director for the renovation and expansion of the Javits Center. Prior to that he was an Associate and Senior Architect at Grimshaw Architects, and a Project Manager at Rafael Viñoly Architects, both in New York.
