Reyen named vice president for tourism and director of Visit Binghamton

Binghamton, NY Visit Binghamton and the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce have named Jim Reyen as its new vice president for tourism and director of Visit Binghamton.

Reyen brings decades of leadership, community involvement, and regional pride to the role. Having spent 35 years with Johnson Outdoors Gear/Eureka! Tents in various positions, he has become a pillar in the business community.

Beyond his professional career, Reyen has long been an active champion of the Greater Binghamton community. His role with the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce, along with his dedication to the local music scene and numerous community initiatives, including the Harper Stanz Rec Park Music Fest, reflects his deep commitment to promoting the region and enhancing its quality of life.

Since 2023, Reyen has served as the race director for the Greater Binghamton Bridge Run, the area’s largest premier running event. The annual race attracts thousands of both participants and spectators from all over the country and Canada, and brings them directly into the heart of Binghamton. Under his leadership, the event demonstrates the power of collaboration among community organizations, volunteers, sponsors, and local businesses while showcasing Broome County as a vibrant destination for tourism.

“Jim has always been a champion of our community and has a strong track record of building the relationships needed to promote and celebrate our area’s assets,” said Sheila Doyle, chairperson, Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce. “We know he’ll build on the tremendous work that Visit Binghamton has done for many years.” 

“Jim’s extensive leadership experience, strong community relationships, and passion for Broome County make him an outstanding selection for this role,” said Stacey Duncan, president and CEO of the Chamber. “His vision and dedication will enhance our tourism efforts, support local businesses, and continue to position Greater Binghamton as a premier destination for visitors.”

Visit Binghamton, an affiliate division of the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce, is Broome County’s recognized Tourism Promotion Agency (TPA). In 2025, Visit Binghamton’s work generated $29,541,690 in economic impact. Judi Hess, Vice President of Tourism and Director of Visit Binghamton since 2019, will retire on July 31st after 31 years of service to the organization. 

“I have known Jim for many years, and I know that he will do a terrific job leading tourism for Broome County. I am looking forward to watching the continued growth of the impact Visit Binghamton will bring to the community,” said Hess.

Reyen will begin on August 1st.
