Related Companies adds Kosik and Schmidt as vice presidents

Related Cos. has added two vice presidents within their leasing team, Laura Kosik, and Christopher Schmidt. Both will oversee portions of the firm's extensive portfolio of residential rental buildings throughout N.Y.C. and Boston. Both vice presidents will work with Related's senior VP of leasing, Daria Salusbury, in their New York headquarters. "We are pleased to promote Laura, as well as welcome Christopher to the Related team," said Salusbury. "Both Laura and Christopher's distinct skill sets and experience within this sector will further strengthen our talented team. Each will play vital roles in the growth of our portfolio." With 15 years of experience at Related, Kosik will now oversee leasing efforts for the firm's downtown assets in Chelsea, TriBeCa and Union Sq. In addition to the management of these properties, she will be instrumental in the oversight of the firm's future developments within West Chelsea. Prior to her promotion, Kosik successfully led various lease-ups and managed multiple properties through her position as a district leasing manager. She graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor of science degree from Northeastern University. Schmidt, has joined Related's leasing team as a vice president. He brings over 10 years of experience and most recently acted as the managing director of leasing and marketing for Peter Cooper Village/Stuyvesant Town (PCVST). While managing PCVST, Schmidt was responsible for all vacant leasing, renewals, marketing, programming and lease administration for the 11,229-unit asset. He will now oversee various properties in Related's portfolio, including those located in the Upper East Side, Upper West Side and Midtown West, in addition to select assets in Boston. Schmidt's broad leasing experience also includes previously acting as the national director of marketing at AvalonBay Communities, where he was responsible for overseeing all marketing and advertising initiatives for approximately 60,000 units across three brands. He is a graduate of Marist College. Related currently has a strong pipeline of residential rental properties under development in New York City and other major cities throughout the country. These projects include: 205 East 92nd St. in collaboration with Handel Architects; 456 Washington St. in collaboration with BKSK Architects; 480 Main St. in collaboration with Handel Architects; 500 West 30th St. in collaboration with Robert A.M. Stern Architects; and Hunter's Point South in collaboration with SHoP Architects in New York City. Related is also developing Parcel M in collaboration with Arquitectonica in downtown Los Angeles; 111 West Wacker Drive in Chicago in collaboration with Handel Architects; and 100 Arlington in Boston in collaboration with Elkus Manfredi Architects.
