July 06, 2021 - Long Island

Hampton Bays, NY The Hampton Boathouses, the East End’s newest, luxury rental community situated along the Shinnecock Canal, has a new service offering—furnished townhomes. After experiencing an increasing demand for this level of service, Rechler Equity Partners established a new partnership with designer, Benjamin Noriega Ortiz, as well as New-York-City-based, furniture leasing company, Casa One. This development provides prospective residents with the opportunity to rent an already furnished unit or allows them to work directly with these experts to design and furnish their home with their preferred décor and style.

“We are excited to announce these new partnerships with Benjamin and Casa One that provides on-demand, yet fully customizable, furniture options for those leasing townhomes at the Hampton Boathouses,” said Mitchell Rechler, co-managing partner of Rechler Equity Partners. “Moving and picking furniture can be an extremely daunting task and this new partnership aims to simplify this time-demanding process while also providing people the chance to tailor their stay at the Hampton Boathouses to their taste and personality. All a new resident would need to bring is their silverware and towels, yet, that can be arranged too.”

Noriega Ortiz is an interior designer who was selected as the 2015 Design Star by Decoration & Design Building. After earning two masters, one in Architecture from the University of Puerto Rico and another in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University, he started his career at John F. Saladino, Inc. in 1983. Then, Ortiz established his own firm in 1992, dedicated to both residential and commercial clients including Lenny Kravitz, Cartier, Morgan Hotel Group and NH Collection. Ortiz is also a published author of two books: Emotional Rooms, The Sensual Interior of Benjamin Noriega Ortiz (2007) and Suspending Reality, Interiors by Benjamin Noriega Ortiz (2014).

Positioned along the east side of the Shinnecock Canals, the 37-home Hampton Boathouses community offers residents spacious accommodations, amenities and water views from every homes’ private patios and balconies. The community, which spans across seven buildings, offers two- and three-bedroom townhomes that have been designed to meet the aesthetic of the South Fork’s manor-style homes.

As the COVID-19 pandemic shifted the flexibility to work from home for so many professionals, many seasonal renters are looking for a more permanent place to stay now that the distance between the office and their home is no longer a factor. To help visualize a potential residents’ new work/life balance with unmatched views of the Shinnecock Canal, a two- and three-bedroom furnished model home has been staged and is available to tour.

“Individuals and companies continue to adapt to the changes incurred by the pandemic. As working from home becomes a more permanent option for professionals, people are spending more time on Long Island’s East End,” said Gregg Rechler, co-managing partner of Rechler Equity Partners. “The for-sale housing market has never been more limited. The lack of supply is making rentals an attractive option. With our new, white-glove, furniture-rental service, as well as our premier location, we remain poised to corner the rental housing market for those looking for a more permanent presence in the Hamptons.”

The townhomes range in size from 1,605 to 2,640 s/f and are perfect for those looking to maintain a presence on the East End or for those who are simply looking to downsize from their existing home into a vacation-like retreat. Convenience is also a major selling point of the Boathouses as the location avoids the traffic jams experienced when heading east of the canal. Residents will also have access to a dock equipped with 18 boat slips that will be available for lease. In addition, outdoor amenities—including a pool with a water view deck furnished with lounge chairs and a clubhouse with a gym, kitchen and massage rooms—are available for residents and their guests.
