Racanelli to lead new woman-owned, Long Island-based Con Rac Construction Group

Long Island has a new construction company-Con Rac Construction Group, LLC-which has as its largest equity owner and president, a woman. She is Constance Racanelli, Esq., a member of the Racanelli family, a well-recognized name in Long Island's commercial/industrial building and development industry. The new women-owned business enterprise (WBE) will provide a wide range of construction services, including general contracting, construction management and design/build for commercial, industrial, retail, institutional, municipal and multifamily housing projects. In addition, the company will offer pre-engineered metal buildings, green building and services including pre-construction planning, project consulting and project management. Going forward as president and CEO of Con Rac, Racanelli will be wearing many hats, from marketing and business development, to project management, liaison with owners, subcontractors, architects, municipalities and overseeing day-to-day operations. According to Racanelli, who practiced real estate and construction law before joining Racanelli Construction Co., Inc. as its corporate counsel, "We are very excited about the potential for Con Rac Construction and look forward to serving the region as a reliable provider of high quality construction services. In addition to our focus on meeting client needs, we will strive to nurture and develop young women into strong and effective members of the construction industry. We already have an outstanding management team which, in addition to John Coleman serving as our COO includes women in key positions." Racanelli added that the company's management team members have joined and are actively participating in major women and construction industry groups including the Professional Women in Construction and the U.S. Green Building Council. Racanelli has already proven she has the right stuff for the industry, having played a prominent role at Racanelli Construction Co. in many areas beyond legal and contractual matters, including project supervision, quality controls, client relations and labor management. She also played a major role in the sales of units in two specific multi-housing development projects, one in Manhattan and the other in Deer Park, Long Island, NY. "Con Rac represents a new opportunity for me that I cannot wait to dive right into," said Racanelli who, incidentally grew up as the only daughter and youngest child of Martin Racanelli, Sr., surrounded by four brothers.
