Professional Profile: Walter Marin

Education: BS/BA in Architecture from City College of New York – Bernard & Anne Spitzer School of Architecture 

First job: In junior high school, I was a cashier & delivery boy for a pharmacy. 

First job in real estate or allied field: Draftsman for home architect.

What do you do now and what are you planning for the future?: I am the senior principal of Marin Architects, a leading full-service architecture firm with a large portfolio of retail, residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects and a strong roster of repeat clients. One of my future goals is to make our practice more design/brand driven. 

How do you unwind from a busy day?: 1-1/2 hours of World News.

Favorite book or author: “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu 

Favorite movie: Star Wars

One word to describe your work environment: Developing

If you could invite one person to dinner (living or dead, but not related to you) who would it be and where would you go?: Frank Lloyd Wright 

What is your DREAM job? (something other than your current job): If I didn’t work in architecture, I would be in mergers and acquisitions.
