As an innovative leader in the concrete and masonry industry, Kingston Block & Masonry Supply, LLC has taken a profound role in manufacturing sustainable Concrete Masonry Units (CMU). With the global concern for sustainable building on the rise, Kingston Block & Masonry Supply, LLC understood the importance of this issue, prompting them to reduce their carbon footprint by introducing Pozzotive CMU & Pozzotive Plus CMU. Made from post-consumer recycled materials, managing partner, Louis Grasso, Jr., LEED-AP said, "We've taken your glass bottles and put them into something more useful than a landfill - our CMU."
Grasso, LEED-AP and member of the board of directors with the New York State Concrete Masonry Association (NYSCMA), is eager to get this product on the market and into every sustainable building project. "During our first quarter of 2009, Kingston Block & Masonry Supply, LLC has used over 250 tons of Pozzotive in the production of our Pozzotive CMU and Pozzotive Plus CMU. Thus, saving over 500,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions," said Grasso at a recent company meeting.
